We will engage with government officials from the Ministry of Education, management staff and volunteers from a workers’ collective, community self-help groups, a foundation and a cultural/heritage promotion organisation. This includes visits to the Self Employed Women’s Association to learn about organising supportive services, the Aajeevika Bureau (AB) at STEP Academy to see how this NGO uplifts migrant labour, and to Abhiyan to understand community development. In Udaipur, we will network with the director of an IT start-up company. We will also learn how traditional handicrafts are madeand enjoy traditional Kachchh dance performances, storytelling by elders of the weaving community, savouring its distinctive cuisine.
